The Powell County Mapping and Road Location Center oversees all aspects of inclusion, naming and cataloguing of roads in Powell County. Our organization works to locate new roads, assign road names and include them in the Powell County 911 system. We issue 911 certified addresses to residences throughout the county and answer questions regarding the 911 system and geographic locations of streets and residences throughout the county.

The Mapping and Location Center also operates as Powell County’s representative to the National Flood Insurance Program. Our office examines sites in which construction or excavation occurs within the Federal Flood Plane and determines whether or not such actions are acceptable by national standards. We answer questions regarding flood zones in Powell County and work to find satisfactory solutions to flood plane issues that please not only the developer, but also meet Federal guidelines.
